Hi,

Recently I came across a backup job which get stuck and couldnt complete after 18hours.

I would like to know how can I configure the job to terminate itself automatically if the job cannot

complete after 10hours. ( I am confident that the job should complete within 1-2 hours max).

Using Backup Exec 2010 R3

Thanks

In the backup job window, check the "Availability & Priority" option there you will find "Enable

Automatic Cancellation" option

Wouldn't it be more prudent to find out why the job is taking 8 hours longer than it should?

More often than not, I find that rebooting the source server fixes the issue or that it shows me an issue on the source server that is lurking and waiting to fail.

Agreed you should really look into why the backup is taking so long rather than just making the error disappear.
