Inventory from BE11d is too large.

Hi guys,

I´ve HP MSL2024( 1 ultrium 920) into the library there are 24 tapes each one have HP bar code label, when i need inventory the tapes from BE11d, the task is very slow, up to 34 min. But if i useful the option RESCAN into the library options it take 2 min.

When you SCAN, the library just reads the BarCode on each tape volume

When you INVENTORY,  the library has to physically load each tape and read the header information

Ken,

when I run scan command since BE console nothing happens. When I do inventory, the library has to phisycally load and read the header information, the whole task it takes 1h34min approximately (23 media tapes).

When I do RESCAN since tape library web interfase, the task is done and it take two minutes.
