LTO3 tape media being recognized at MUCH lower space

We have our autoloder partitioned out for my various jobs. We have one partition that has 2 slots holding two tapes. We use this for our month end jobs. The LTO3 tapes are like 400/800 but I just noticed that the two tapes I have in there say total capacity is 35GB. I thought I put a wrong tape it but I just swapped tapes and put a new LTO3 tape in and it still says 35GB total capacity.

I think something is wrong but don't know what.

Any thoughts?

I just noticed that some of our other tapes say the same thing but still others show much higher total capacity like 373GB. It looks like it might have something to do with the compression ratio?!?!

Should I not worry about my month end backups this weekend using those tapes?

We are using LTO2 Tape (200/400) and I see all my online Media reporting 17,8GB and the Offline Medias that are full reporting 186GB. Offline Media that is not full (appendable) report 17,8GB as the online...

Not sure if that helps.
