Mac Client issues

I have BE 11d on a windows server 2003 box backing up my network machines.  I have one MAC client on which I believe I have installed the mac agent but I still cannot get backups going on this machine.  What is my first step?  I am a MAC newb so please be gentle.

I have the same issue.

I have tried installing the client on the Mac side.

I am not sure if I have it installed.

I could not find a simple installer file, so I may have missed some steps 

Does the agent show on the MAC anywhere?

How can I test basic connectivity?

I followed some steps from the BE 12 admin guide to start the service on the mac manually with root credentials and all it said was it failed.  can anyone help me with this?
