Backup job frequent failed with below error.
Storage device "NAS b2d" reported an error on a request to read / write data from / to media.
Error reported:
The specified network name is no longer available.
V-79-57344-33992 - The backup storage device has failed.
Seagate blackarmour nas device. Nas is located in the near backup server & its share are easily accessible.
What is the solution?

Hi,
Use the IP address (if you're not doing so already) to get around any non-domain or DNS issues.
Also get hold of the B2Dtest.exe tool on the link below. Install it and run it against the NAS to check for suitability to run as a B2D target:

IP address used, IT failed with same reason.
Server has two lan cards is this causing the problem ?
both are working & has been configured with IPV4
If i add the NAS name & its ip address in the DNS & in the host file, will it resolve the issue. ?
How can i add the NAS in to a DNS because its not a part of domain? its just a stand alone NAS.

It could. Try disabling one of the LAN cards and see whether it solves the problem.

It may, but I would try disabling one of the LAN card first.

Adding the NAS IP address to the host file is good enough.

Hope you are providing the IP address followed by the share name while creating B2D
Usually you can use the NAS's UI to make it part of a domain
