Oracle backup problems (problem with query for current log sequence)

Hi,

We are having some problems with our oracle backups using Backup Exec 10.0. Since about a week we are getting the following error messages:

Backup- ORACLE_DB01/DMS The query for current log sequence for the Oracle database (null) failed.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.

Backup- ORACLE_DB01/TALENTS The query for current log sequence for the Oracle database (null) failed.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.

The server has been rebooted and our DBA's have checked for any problems but couldn't find anything.

Question:
Which steps should be taken to get the backup working correctly again?

Anyone? Can someone at least provide some insight in which direction I have to look for a solution? Missing archivelogs or a configuration error?

Even i'm facing the same problem. I'm going to open a case with symantec. I'll update you once i get the result.

I am having the same type of problem with our Oracle database; did you guys ever figure out what was wrong or how to fix the problem?
