PowerVault 120T DDS4 Autoloader - Loader Becoming Ready

Hello,

I have a Dell PowerVault 120T DDS4 Autoloader which is just a renamed Sony TSL-11000. However, everytime I turn it on it just says "Loader Becoming Ready" and nothing happens.

Please could someone give me some advice as to what is wrong with this device.

Make sure Windows detects auto loader (medium changer ) and Tape drive.

Configure Autoloader with Microsoft Drivers so that it appear as "Unknow Medium Changer" 

Install Symantec drivers for the tape device.

Check Windows Event viewer for any errors related to the hardware

Run the Dell diagnostic utility against the library.  Stop all the BE services beforehand and select the write test.  This is to detect any hardware errors.

Hello,

I am still having problems with this Autoloader. The LCD screen on the Autoloader is saying, "Drive SelfTest Failure. ResetReq". However, I have turned the autoloader on and off again but it just keeps going to this screen. Could this mean that the tape drive within the autoloader is faulty?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be the autoloader itself that is faulty.  You should get the vendor to take a look at the device.
