Problems with B2D and Rev drive

Hi. We are running SBS 2003. BE version 10.0, build 5520 service pack 1. I today upgraded to this version to attempt to solve the following problem.

When jobs are submitted that run to a B2D folder located on a mapped REV drive, they go into a queued status. I was getting a message in the error log prior to the upgrade that said the following:

An error occurred while processing a B2D command.
Changer: MoveMedium() Attempt to Lock Slot Failed (F:\VERITAS\B2D\B2D000123.lck). Error=112

I no longer am getting the message, bu the symptom is the same after applying the latest build. Any ideas?

Hi Peter,

Try this:

- Have a look at this explanation:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/248709

- Create new B2D folders

- Stop the BEWS services

- Move your BKF data to the new folders

- Start BEWS services

- Delete old B2D and backup jobs

- Create a new backup job explicitly directed to the new B2D

Hope this helps.

Tried this, no go. There is no lock file on the device. I am writing to a REV drive. The B2D folder is specified as removable in the device settings.
