When installing a remote client via push installation from a fully patched Media Server is it necessary to add any patches to the remote client installation after that, or are those patches part of the remote installation process?
No, any hotfixes which affect the remote agent should update the version on the media server which gets copied to the remote server. So simply install as usual, and that should be all you need to do.
