Quantum DLT V4 SCSI Tape drive

I have been running Backup Exec V9.1 for some time now, it works very well, so I have seen no need to upgrade, [using the idea if it aint broke dont fix it]
However, i recently had to replace an older tape drive with a Quantum DLT V4 SCSI device. My ICT Support guys tell me backup exec 9.1 wont support this device and I need to upgrade to V11. Is thistrue and does anyone else have this problem?

There may be no Symantec drives for this device, but if NTBackup can see and use it with the mfg drivers, BackupExec should be able to also
 
 
The only thing the HCL means is that the device has been tested with that particular release
 
(You are aware that v9.1 went End-of-Life back in January, right?  I agree that if everything still works, there's no good reason to upgrade, but if you ever do have problems, you are on your own)
