Question on Syntetic Backup.

When we create sample policy for synthetic backup - we see 3 template - baseline, incremental, synthetic.
I want to understand - in properties of synthetic templates - we see in section Destination - pulldown menu - Device.
And in Settings -> General - Preferred Source Device.
What is the different between two device.

Preferred Source Device - device that contains baseline and incremental backups
Destination Device - device where synthetic backup will be written.
