Hi all,

I am running Backup Exec 10d and I need to backup servers running Solaris 10 using Ralus. Of course the installer fails (unsupported Operating System Version). So what are my options now? How am I going to be able to backup these servers running Ralus?

Thanks and regards,

Max

Yeah, even I eager to know because I am too running 10d backup exec on windows 2003 server and it says access denied when I try to access solaris machine through root account.

Is there any update or separate purchase ?

Thanks

Well, since the SCL says the the v10d RALUS supports through Solaris 9, you are probably SOL

You could always try installing the RALUS from v11d, but I wouldn't hold my breath on a v10d media server  connecting to a v11d RALUS agent

SCL - Software Compatibility List
RALUS Remote Agent for Linux and Unix Server
SOL  SH-- out of Luck\

As for the v11d agent

Hmm

Grab the Trialware version of v11d at http://www4.symantec.com/Vrt/offer?a_id=30140

But again, I really don't expect it to work with a v10d media server

Yes the 11d client even though got installed. ( Agent) on sol 10
but 10 d could not identify the machine in the backup list of media server.

I tried the 11 media server trial and it could identify the sol 10 agent !

I dont know how much it takes to upgrade to 11 agent for solaris and media server upgrade from 10d !

Thanks

I was afraid of that

Guess your only option is a complete upgrade (media server and all agents) to v11d Smiley Sad
