Hello,

Quick erase writes an indicator at the beginning of the media and the contents of the media are made inaccessible.

When a tape is quick erased, the header information on the tape gets
overwritten. Although, the data may be physically present on the tape but
the Backup Exec will consider it as a fresh tape. By no means the Backup
Exec will be able to retrieve the data from that tape. Performing catalog
operation on the tape will not help either.
