I have to recover the Calendar of a mailbox that The backup was make when the system was Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5.
I have to recover information from July 2002!

Now I only have Exchange Server 2003 . When I try to recover the calendar I redirect to a mailbox that it's in Exchange 2003 . Consecuently the items leave single with the subject.

I think than I have to instal a Exchange 5,5 with the same configuration that I have got in July 2002. but it's very difficult

Exists some way to recover the mailbox in Exchange 2003?

I've been backing up Exchange for a few years now but fortunately not had to do many restores also my knowledge of Exchange is limited so not sure if this will work..

Try creating a Recovery Storage Group:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824126

Or

http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Recovering-Mailboxes-Exchange2003-SP1.html

Then you may be able to use Exmerge to export the mailbox you require to a PST file. Once you have it in PST you can then mount it in Outlook and export the calendar information. The Organisation name must be the same though.

Let me know how you get on and if you find a way.

You can only restore a database to a recovery storage group that came from an Exchange 2000 SP 3 or later server. Exchange 5.5 databases cannot be restored to Exchange 2003. You could probably restore the mailbox contents to a mailbox on the Exchange 2003 but the calendar objects would not come back. This is because calendar items reference items within the original Information store. The only way to recover the calendar items is to restore an Information Store backup to a rebuilt Exchange 5.5 server. See http://support.veritas.com/docs/233494 for further information.
