Remote Agent for Windows servers?

I am using BE 9.1 (Bld. 4691) to backup a single SBS 2003 server. It has Exchange and SQL on it, but I am not backing up any remote servers.

So, why is the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers service running? I don't even have a license number for this. Is this needed for doing the SQL backup or the Exchange? Have they changed this in 9.X?

I have been having backup problems lately (right now, we're blaming the DAT drive) and I was just wondering if the Remote Agent service even needs to be there, or could it even be causing issues?

As of v9.0 ALL backups are done through the "Remote Agent", even those done on the media server.
