Restore software compression file by different version of BE

Hello,

I am using BE 11D with window 2003 and running software compression with encryption. The offsite system recovery is planned, it may perform the recovery with different Version of BE at offsite. Refer to symantec Doc, the media can only be cataloged and restored form BE software. however,  have not mention whether can restored by different version. Do anybody have experience on it. Please advise.

Any higher version should be able to restore from your backups.

Lower versions (v10d and below) will definitely not
