I have a DLT IV tape backup of a SQL database which I took on a server which no longer exists (SQLServer1). I am now trying to restore this SQL database to a new server (SQLServer2) and the job is failing.
"Final error: 0xa000848c - Unable to attach to one of the drives."
I have tried using SQL redirection to direct the database into the right location on SQLServer2 but it still fails.
The backup exec on the SQLServer1 was v.8 and I am using v.9 on SQLServer2. Both servers ran SQL 2000
As a test, I have tried a regular file restore to the new server from tape and it worked successfully (mostly xls and mdb files), so I am happy that the data on tape is consistent.
Any ideas?
