Restoring files without Administrator Rights

We are using Backup Exec 10.0 and use the administration console by rdp'ing as a domain admin onto the Windows 2000 server it is installed onto.

We would like a non administrator to be able to restore files from a backup, but do not wish to give them domain or local admin rights.

From looking at previous threads it looks like they have to be at least a local admin to use the console but was wondering if there are any ways round this.

Many thanks.

Hello Stephen

There are unfortunately no workaround to this. You have to have admin rights to restore files.

Thanks for your reply Ashutosh.

It's a shame that a logon account can't be setup in Backup exec that is linked to the main backup exec service account for non-admins to use.
