Hi,
we have 1 CAS and 2 MMS each of them physically connected to a partioned tape library (a DELL TL4000 with 4 drive and 2 partition).
I would like to know if it is possible to share tape mediaset information from the MMS servers.
For example:
On MMS1 I take a backup on Tape1 that belong to Mediaset1, then the tape is ejected from the library.
When the tape is inserted again in the library and, for istance, it goes into the other partition, MMS2 doesn't know it and put it in the scratch media set.
Our customer would like that the MMS2 recognize the tape mediaset without any activity like inventory or scan.
Do you think is it possibile?

You will have to do an inventory or scan as otherwise BE has no way to understand where the media is,
but depending on how you configure the catalogs in the CASO environment you should not have to run a catalog.

OK, we will do an inventory every time a tape will be inserted into the library.
Thanks.
