Speeding up intial CPS sync

Hi,
 
I'm looking at speeding up the initial CPS synchronization time for sites going across a slow WAN link. Does anyone know if it possible to to perform this step manually? (i.e take a backup & transfer by disk rather than over the WAN).

Yes it is possible to do it manually. I recommend that you start the replication job, then stop it, do a full backup to disk or removeable media and then take it to the destination and restore it. You can then restart the job and the initial replication will be much shorter.
