I have a LTO tape drive.  Recently I got a message that I had to run the clean the drive.  After I ran the tape cleaner I now get the error  "The operation failed to acquire the minimum number of drives and media needed."

I have tried reselecting the media and everything else I can think of but the jobs still fail.

Has anyone else had this happen?  How did you fix it?

Hi,

Run a quick erase on the tape . Also , check the job try to change it from append or terminate to overwrite.

I did what you suggested.  It does work if I run only one job.  But I run 3 jobs each night.  I did your suggestion on each one individual job and it does work.  Now when I try to let all 3 jobs run, only the first job works, and I get the same error on the other 2 jobs.

Any suggestions?

I had that same problem, "The operation failed to aquire the minimum number of drives and media needed".  I tried everything but it kept failing.  Make sure your tape drive is on and restart the server that it is connected to so it's able to find it.  You would think that it would be plug and play.
