The services "Backup Exec Server" and BackupExec Job Engine" Fail to start

We're having a problem with a Veritas Backup Exec 10.0

After installing the IBM AS400 Client Access, the two services mentioned above failed to start. We try to start them manually, with no success.

We tried to uninstall the IBM client, update our veritas softwre by "Veritas Update" at its last and up-to-date dowloads...and of course with no success. We tried to restore the system to an older system state too.

Any of the posible solutions we tried failed!

System Description:

Intel P4 2.8 Ghz - 1GB ram
Windows XP SP2 with all vendor patches applied
Veritas Backup Exec 10.0 with all vendor patches applied
HP DAT 72 SCSI

Can you Help Us?

We're expecting for a miracle to our problem!

Hello,

When the services fail to start, do you get any errors in the event logs? Also check if there are any alerts in the alerts tab in BE?

Try starting the services and see the exact error you receive.
