Should I be able to install the exchange agent with the trial version. I can't get that agent to come up as an option to do a remote install.

If you've selected the agent during the install of Backup Exec, then you have the functionality. The Exchange agent doesn't exist as such, it simply unlocks the functionality in BE, and having the Remote Agent installed on your Exchange server is sufficient. See What are agents?

Ok, so I have the agent installed on my media server but when I go to add agents remotely onto the exchange server, the exchange agent isn't an option.

The Exchange "Agent" is merely a serial that unlocks the capability on the media server.

The Remote Agent however DOES need to be installed on any remote machine, server or workstation,  before BackupExec will connect to it.

Thanks. I was confused by the terminology and was trying to make it harder than it really was.
