Unclose connection from Backup Server

I found that my client server connected to backup server with many unclose connection which make the server fail to connect with other application (For example, cannot use remote desktop connection). Is there any solutioin for that?

My client server is using Windows 2003 SP2, and with backup engine 9.0 Rev 4454 Hotfix31.

don't know if it will make any difference, but I'd try the free upgrade to v9.1
