Upgrade to 11d SSO questions

I have a fiber channel backup san currently running ver10. 
 
I will upgrade the primary server first.  Do I need to stop the BE services on the other media servers before I start the upgrade?
 
Can I do a staggered upgrade (upgrade the primary, let it run overnight, then upgrade the other media servers)?

Yes, you will need to upgrade your master first.  While it should not be necessary to stop the services on the other media servers, I would suggest to do so.
As far as the 'staggered' upgrade, that is not going to work.  The other servers will not be able to communicate with the master until they are at 11d as well.
