Using Backup Exec V9 to backup Veritas Enterpirse Vault archived files

When trying to back up placeholder shortcuts we are experiencing real issues. we are getting many 'corrupt' tems reported or 'access denied' messages in the backup log when I know that they are not corrupt files, just that they are placeholder shortcuts. We use a slightly older version of backup exec than is current (v9) to do our backups. I have tried using the evfsbackupmode.exe program but it doesn`t seem to have any effect. I recall a similar issue we had when we were on v8 and trying to back up archived emails and we had to upgrade our version of backup exec to fix the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
