Using multiple tapes

Hi

Having established that Symantec don't have a pre-sales technical team and suggest that you pay for support to decide whether a product meets your needs I am now trying this route to answer a relatively simple question.

You used to be able to stream to multiple tapes from one job and I have been able to establish that this functionality is no longer available in Backup Exec 2010 but is it possible to schedule two jobs to run simultaneously and write to two tapes?

Thanks for any help or answers with this question

Nigel

Hi Nigel

You will be able to run 2 jobs simultaneously if you have 2 tape drives.

If you have a library then you will need a Library Expansion Option license for the every additional tape drive.

With regards the ability to stream one job to multiple tapes - I belive that is a NetBackup function, not a Backup Exec one
