We are seeing V-79-57344-759 (Error opening VFF) from time to time when backing up Exchange.
In the knowledgebase we found that this issue is solved with SP2, however we already applied SP2 and the error still occurs from time to time.
The error message also states that this can be caused by beeing short on RAM or hardisk space.
How to find out if we have enough harddisk space left and on which volume do we have to look at?
I would assume 12 GB RAM should be enought on Win 2003 R2 X64.

Try changing the location of the temp space used during GRT processing using the procedure below

You got to have enough disk space to hold your biggest image.

Hi,
I have the same issue on BE2012. The Media Server is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 x64 EN and the Exchange 2010 is Windows 2008 Standard SP2 x64 EN.
All BE updates are applied on Media Server.
The database on Exchange Server that is causing the problem has 50GB. It is 3,5 TB free space on the disk. The Exchange Server has 16GB of RAM.
As for the creation of a registry entry: I was looking for this entry in the registry on Media Server, but there is no such key. So there is no such service.
However there is such key on Exchange Server but I can't find the VirtFile service on services list in services.msc.
So should I create this entry on both servers? Creating this entry should I use a 32 bit or 64 bit DWORD ?
