VXA-320 and Backup Exec

I am running 2003 with BE 9.1 trying to use a VXA-320 emulating a VXA-2. What a nightmare this is. Tried all combos of drivers (Exabyte, MS and BE). Still just a fantasy. I'm thinking of upgrading to version 10. Will this work using the native VXA-320? Is this a train wreck to get working like my current situation?
