Weekly Backup

Hi

We currently have two hard disks that we swap out each day and we want to be able to write alternate backups, at the minute it overwrites the backup each day so we only have one set but we want to have a weeks worth of backups from Monday to Friday (a separate set of files for each day) How do we set this up?

Thanks

John

If
The same job runs each night
You want all jobs from the same week on the same HardDrive

For the media set that the job calls, set the OPP (Overwrite Protection Period) to 8 Days and make sure that the job is defined as Overwrite

Also, make sure that the each hard drive is always mounted as the same unique dirve letter (drive1 as S: and drive2 as T: for example), place both B2d folders in a drive pool, and point the job to the pool, not "All Pools"Message was edited by:

We would like alternate nights to be on different disks i.e. monday on disk 1, tuesday on disk 2, wednesday on disk 1, thursday on disk 2 and friday on disk 1.
How do we do this?

Create a Media Pool and put both B2D Folders in the Pool, then point the backup job to that pool rather than "all media" or a specific drive
