Restore keeps on failing with the code:

a000fe30 HEX or e000fe30 HEX / communications failure

Support docs refer to MS Exchange - we are not running exchange

O/S - windows 2003 standard
TBU - IBM Ultrium LTO with OEM drivers (same problem when using veritas drivers)

TBU, SCSI card, connectors have all been replaced - software problem as NT Backup works OK

Any ideas what the solution is?

Hello,
Please check if the files to which you are restoring exist or have been deleted.
Verify that the account has domain admin rights.

- as the files are backed up (but not restored) and NT backup can backup and restore them, plus users open them on a daily basis, I assume they exist ...

- yes, the account does have full access rights as it is a domain account
