cleaning tape expired

The clean tape status in Dell PV TL 2000 Tape Library console is normal and the media loads is 20.But in BE15 ,inventory failed due to the maximum cleaning count is less than the number of cleanings. I cannot set the maximum cleaning count to more than 100. Pleae help.

According to vendor documentation, what is the maximum number of cleanings allowed ? ( If i recall, 20 is default maximum).

If more than 20 cleanings are allowed, then delete the cleaning tape from the Backup Exec UI and then re-inventory it (or run a scan).

Thank you for your help. But how to delete the cleaning tape? Do you mean erase it in BE15 -> Storage -> slots ?

There would be an option to right-click and delete (or move to Expired Media and then delete).

In case you are not aware, every time you inventory a cleaning tape, the tape is read in the tape drive and this counts as one cleaning. If you want to minimise the cleaning count, then you should only scan, not inventory, the cleaning tape. Also, you should designate the slot that the cleaning tape is in as a cleaning slot in the BE console
