Hello everyone,

We're in the process of evaluating Backup Exec 16 for Windows. I installed the server with an eval license on Windows 2012 R2 Dell server. I also installed an agent on a remote system (a VMWare guest Windows 2012R2 server as well).  We have a quantum loader 16 tape library. I've created a library partition consisting of 12 tapes and setup a backup job to backup the remote agent.  Once the backup job starts, it attempts to allocate an available tape, but fails.  The loader is filled with 12 WORM tapes.  The backup job eventually fails with subject error: 

e0000f16 - The operation failed to acquire the minimum number of drives and media needed.

before failling, the job status reads: Media Request/Qeued. 

Any idea of what's happening?

If you are using WORM tapes, then the backup job needs to have the option checked to indicate that you want to use WORM media.  WORM media will not get used unless the job specifically is configured to use WORM media.
