Running BE 2010 R2. When running a quick erase job on a transaction log tape I'm getting the above error in the job log, although the job itself reports as successful. Does this indicate a faulty tape? The tape itself is not a cleaning tape nor is the slot designated for cleaning.
Thanks!

Are backups working?
Please refer http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH87796 .
I think it can be ignored here too, but you can just download and install the latest symantec device drivers and see if you get rid of that error .

Does it only happen with that single transaction log tape?
I suggest using the SCSI tracer.exe tool to see what the drive is reporting that make BE think it is a cleaning tape.

What tape drive & library?

It happens with some tapes but not others. We perform the quick erase once per day, this error occurs about 50% of the time. It is a Compaq StorageWorks MSSL6060 Ultrium Autoloader. There are four 200/400GB Ultrium tape drives. Thanks for the tip on the tracer tool I will look into that.
In response to Twinkle, yes backups are working.
Thanks again for your help.
