Sorry for stupid question.
Can somebody clarify: to protect remote W2k3 server I need to buy Agent AND OFO licenses or only OFO license (I've heard it includes license for Agent)?

Hi,

AOFO license inludes the Remote Agent license. So in order to protect remote Windows 2003 server, install the AOFO license on the Media server and install AOFO and Remote agent software on the Windows 2003 server.

Document applies to BE 10.0 as well.

Assuming the solution provided is correct. Also, there is no response from the customer within 2 days from the last reply by Veritas

I don't have AOFO installed on my Windows Server 2003 remote agent server, yet my backups are reporting a successfull backup using VSS (opening by AOFO) .

I also saw a thread which stated that AOFO is not necessary on 2003 as long as VSS was started.

Can you confirm that indeed AOFO is not necessary to backup open files (such as *.pst files) on a Windows Server 2003 server then?

Thank you.
