WORM media append

Due to network error several LTO WORM backups failed and NB seems not mark the end marker on WORM tapes. Now there are tapes that have few bytes written to them, but seem to be unusable (unable to append).

Is there a way to scan WORM tapes and teach NB where it can write on those  tapes? Because the tapes ain't cheap and this thing seems to happen from time to time.

Unfortunately not possible, I forget the exact way WORM tapes are correctly 'terminated' after a backup (I think it's a single file mark, which is a bit different to a double file mark used for non-worm tapes) but ultimately there is no way to force NetBackup to write to a WORM tape that is non-appendable.
