I currently have a number of customers on various 10 versions of EV and am looking to start planning the EV11 upgrade. As 11.0.1 is now available I am planning on deploying it. I see and can access the 11.0.1 CHF1 ISO, but cannot locate the 11.0.1 base code itself. I am assuming there is a full ISO install for 11.0.1 as opposed to an update to 11.0 (I already have the 11.0 code dated May 2014). I can only locate upgrade notifications for 11 (nothing for 11.0.1), and when I use the serial number associated with those upgraded licenses I see the original 11.0 code from May 2014. Anyone assist here ? Thanks, AJSolved5.4KViews1like2CommentsEV Outlook Add-In for Office 365 Subscription / Windows 8.1
Not sure if anyone else has had this specific issue (I have seen some similar posts), but I recently ran into a problem getting the Outlook Add-In to work with the subscription edition of Office 2013 on Windows 8.1. No matter what I did I could not get the Enterprise Vault Add-In to even show up in the trust center in Outlook, let alone on the menu bar in Outlook. The fix for this problem ended up being to uninstall the subscription edition of Office 2013 that was downloaded from Office 365 and reinstall and the normal volume license edition. Once I made this change, and uninstalled/reinstalled the EV plug-in the Outlook Add-in worked immediately! I haven't gone as far as testing to determine if the problem is specific to Windows 8.1 or the Office Subscription installation but I just wanted to share my findings. We do have several clients that are using/looking at the subscription edition of Office even if they are not using Office 365 for email, so this is a problem I expect we are going to start to see more often if they are also archiving with EV. Hi All, We are currently in the middle of an Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2013 POC & to date we have had some challenges in regards to the functionality of the Virtual Vault after the installation of Outlook 2013. Outlook 2013 installs without error. We then launchOutlook all looks well with the Virtual Vault in the navigation pane, however when you click on the Virtual Vault to expand the folder set you get the error message "Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occured. MAPI was unable to load the information service EVMSP.DLL. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured". To set the scene we have the current configuration on our POC test case machine - Outlook 2007 SP3 installed side by side with Outlook 2013 15.0.4649.1001: - Enterprise Vault Outlook Addin 10.0.4.1293 - Outlook 2007 SP3 user with Virtual Vault working as expected - Outlook 201315.0.4649.1001 with Virtual Vault, however cannot expand folder set because of the MAPI error above. In order to re-enable the Vault we have had to do one of two tasks below: 1. As part of the Outlook 2013 installation script we perform arepair of the Enterprise Vault add-in, which results in most cases of a working Virtual Vault upon completion of the installation ofOutlook. 2. By running the following commandrundll32 EVMSP32.dll,MergeEVMSPWithMAPISVC To my understanding the reason for this MAPI error is a result of the new installation of Outlook 2013 creating a new MAPISVC.INFwhere the Enterprise Vault services have not been registered. This then results in the Virtual Vault not functioning as expected. In performing one of the two tasks below this registers the service with MAPI, which results in a working Virtual Vault. What i would like to understand is if anyone in the forum has come across an issue like this & what approach you have taken to resolve it. Any insight, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, ScottSolved4.9KViews1like5CommentsThe Enterprise Vault service is not available
Hello, Earlier this evening, I performed an upgrade from v9.0.4 to 10.0.2 CHF2. The upgrade involved moving to new hardware using the server settings migration wizard. The upgrade itself went smooth with no errors, and archiving, storage and retrieval, and most backend tasks seem to be working without issue. The problem we're seeing is with Archive Explorerer and the search functions. When we try to access Archive Explorer, we're setting "The Enterprise Vault service is not available." This happens with regular user accounts, as well as admins and the Vault service account. Additionally, browsing with Archive Explorerer results in the following: The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. The stylesheet does not contain a document element. The stylesheet may be empty, or it may not be a well-formed XML documen... Clicking the Search Archives button in Outlook brings up a "An error has occurred in the script on this page" message. We have a case open with Symantec support, but so far we have not been able to resolve the issue. We've tried reregistering ASP.NET, checking IIS settings, running the deployment scanner, among many other things. The same configuration works fine in a lab environment. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.Solved4.8KViews0likes10CommentsHowto Migrate EV 11 From Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2
Hi, I need to migrate a Enterprise Vault 11 server running on a Windows 2008 R2 server to a Windows 2012 R2 server. Actually we are doing only Exchnage Journal Archiving. What is the best procedure to afford this ??? Actually we don't have Symantec Backup solutions, but i suppose that it could be done with different backup solutions. Un saludoSolved4.2KViews1like2CommentsFailed Index Volume
We have EV 10.0.3 for Exchange 2007 and recently we ended up with Indexing issue on only Journal mailbox. We cannot search on Journal mailbox from December 2012. Going to Indexing on the EV console we can see 1 failed index. Indexing and searching is fine for all other users. We recently migrated from EV 8 to 10.0.1 and this is where after a while one of he Journal indexing volume (64-bit) failed and this is the only 64 bit indexing for Journal archive. We have tried various fixes including: verifying and Synchronise. Some of the event logs suggested to upgrade to EV 10.0.3 and we done the upgrade but not luck with the fix. Symantec support suggested to use EVSVR to locate the missing items. then we applied EVSVR in report mode and then in repair mode it identified the missing items and deleted them from the indexing. then it was suggested to rebuild the indexes (only for the failed volume) and we done that and completed the rebuilding. the failed index on the Indexing went a way for a short time then restarting the index server it brought back the failed status and showing error id 28998 and 41329 (Error Type: FrenzyErrorDetected). I am not sure what else we need to do as I believe Symantec is running out of options here. Any suggestions or ideas please. thanksSolved4.1KViews0likes8CommentsIndex errors after upgrade to 10.0.3

Hello, I am looking for some advice. We are currently on Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP5 running on Windows Server 2003. Our Exchange level is 2003 asis the domain level. We are planning to migrate to Office 365 in the near future and have been told the following: - Need to upgrade AD to 2012 level - Need to upgrade Exchange to 2010 SP3 minimum (These are projects we will be carrying out soon.) I could do with some advice on what we can do with our current vault setup. We are set to archive all items that are older than 1 month and have been told that you can move the mailbox to 365 easily but only unvaulted items. Can anyone suggest what the best way forward if I want to upload all of our archived mailboxes to 365? It was suggested that only the unarchived mails will be imported to 365 and you have to manually export to a .pst to upload the rest. Is this true? We have a huge amount of archived data and this would be very time consuming. Is there a way we can upload all people's archives without having to export them too? Is there a way of integrating Enterprise Vault with Office 365? What happens with the Journal? Any ideas or suggestions are very welcome. Hi, On my EV 10.4 CHF3 server I'm running SymHelp before upgrading to EV11.0.1 and keep getting an error for"TEMP Folder Security Test" in theEnterprise Vault 11.0.1 requirements. The full text is: Error TEMP Folder Security Test Error TEMP folder 'H:\AppData\Local\Temp\' does not satisfy security requirements. See the 'Installing and Configuring' manual for details of the TEMP folder security requirements. The folder only has SYSTEM and (Local) Administrators with full control. There are no inherited permissions. I have moved TEMP on this particular server and have other servers where TEMP is located in the default and get the same reported. I have gone throughhttps://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO108117.html andhttps://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH224726.html and while I'm confident to add either of the Registry entries to work-around this I'd rather try and understand the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.Solved3.6KViews0likes8Comments
