Backup Exec Recovery Fail

Hello All,

I am Running Back-up Exec 2012 on Windows Server 2012, I am Logging onto the Server with a BackupAdmin Account,

I am able to do all the Backup to a LTO-5 HP Data Cartridge. But when we do a test Restore to the Server I am getting the Following Error message

 

Server -- ServerName

Storage --NA--

Job Name -- ServerName Restore 0013

Date & Time 7/5/2013 9:51:55 AM

Meesage: ServerName Restore 00013 -- The job failed with the following error: Backup Exec could not log on to the server with the logon account specified for it. The logon account does not have valid credentials. Ensure that the user name and password are correct in the logon account.

 

We also log into the Server with the Main Admin Account, and tried the Restore and still had the same Error message,  Server Logon Account we are selecting the System Logon Account for this.

    The much awaited Service Packs to add support to Windows Server 2012 (Remote Agent only) and VMWare 5.1 are released.

    Try to use an account in BE (Logon Accounts) that has full permissions on the server that you are restoring to. What is the data that you are restoring?

    I am Not logging in remotely I have tried Remote and going into the Server Room,

    I am restoring just a Document File as a Test. the BackupAdmin should have full permissions on the Server to backup and restore

    Have you setup the bkpadmin account in Backup Exec to be used for the restore. This technote should help in understanding what rights/permissions are needed

    ok I have now giving the BackupAdmin Account Full Server Rights.

     

    and same Issue, do i need to go into BE Utility and add the permissions their as well  ?

    This is not a supported configuration. Backup Exec is not supported to be installed on Server 2012 OS as a Media Server. Backup Exec only can backup Server 2012 OS by installing a Remote agent after installing the beta Service pack.

    The issue that you are facing could be a result of an unsupported configuration.

    So i will have to Wait till this Beta Service pack is fully Tested, before i can work with Remote agent on Server 2012 ?

    does it matter we don't have Remote agent Installed in the first place ?

    The beta is available for registered users. Use the link from my previous post to register and once approved, you would receive a download link to download and apply the patch.

    This final patch (non Beta) is expected to be released for public sometime this month (I dont have the exact date yet)

    I understand that the Backup 2012 is not Fully Supported on Windows Server 2012.

    but if we are using the same credentials to back up our Server why isn't the same credentials not allowing us to Restore to the Server

    I dont think its a Win 2012/ Backup compatibility issue at fault its something to do with the credentials that are allowing us the backup but not allowing to restore.

    ...it's BECAUSE BE 2012 isn't supported on Windows 2012 that you're going to run into issues. This support will come in future. RAWS-only support now via a patch.

    You're on an incompatible OS in a potentially unstable configuration...anything is going to be possible. Put BE onto Server 2008 R2 and you should see this issue disappear.

    As such, nobody here, nor Symantec support will be able to assist you until the OS you're running for the media server is supported.

    While Trying to Install RAW i'm getting Access Denied. Please edit the Remote credentials and retry the validation
