If you need to change the server name in Registry for Backup Exec
Go To Registry Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\BEDatabase - Database Server Name

You should not have to reinstall B.E. you should be able to just make an adjustment to B.E. to reflect the new server name. Please see below.
-Open up the BeUtility (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec)
-Select All Backup Exec Servers (You should be able to see the name of the new and old server... Choose the new server name) "If both are present delete the old server name"
- Right click New server name and select "Update Configuration for New Backup Exec Server Name"
- Populate Blank fields and select OK
- Update will begin and you should see services begin "Successfully" one at a time
-once completed you will see the server name with status "Running"
-Close Operation Progress window
-Close BeUtility
-and Open backup exec
