Restore a backup image while the catalog is lost

Lets say I have tape 01, which I backed up normal files on it. After I safe boxed tape 01, the site crashed. I had the opurtunity to install a new NBU 6.5, but the problem is I dont have my old catal...

    Have a look at the Catalog chapter of NBU 6.5 Admin Guide I  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH52801

    The Catalog section of the GUI allows you to Import expired backup images or images from another NetBackup server.

    Allyou need is a tape drive in the new environment that can read the tape (in a robot or standalone).

however for your question,

Does this work even if I'm using another server? and other tape library?  --> YES
