I Would like to share a tech note usefull to understand NDMP backup with Netbackup, hope this could help you as well.

About remote NDMP and disk devices

This remote NDMP feature involves backing up NAS data (Network Attached Storage) to a storage device that is configured on a NetBackup media server. NetBackup supports disk devices on the media server.

In my memory , remote NDMP backup to Disk STU since NBU6.5 MP4.

Before 6.5 MP4 , remote NDMP can only backup to tape device.

Now I just confused that can NDMP meet the requirement of today's nas environment.

Is there NDMP version5 and have better performance?

Or should we present file level backup with accelerator function to mid or enterprise COPR. ?
