Most data center professionals are faced with a sort of Prisoner’s Dilemma. Red Hat and Symantec are keenly aware of the issues outlined above. Working together, we believe we can begin to address the IT prisoner’s dilemma.
To accomplish this, today we announced that we are collaborating with Red Hat to deliver a series of joint solutions that help customers deploy private and hybrid clouds and create highly resilient data centers. The joint solutions will help organizations deploy business-critical applications with confidence and provide Oracle database failover, off-premise disaster recovery, and enterprise-class data availability on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In addition to building solutions, the companies announced an expanded multi-level partnership that spans engineering, marketing, support, and sales groups in both companies.
The joint solutions will help organizations
- Automate off-premise disaster recovery
- Provide cost-effective failover for Oracle databases
- Improve storage management for multi-OS, multi-storage data centers
Together, Symantec and Red Hat offer a more flexible and open environment in terms of hardware, software, and operating systems.
