11D and Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5.

Hi,

I am using Backup Exec 11d, and part of my backup regime includes backing up some Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 Servers. However, though I capture the Mailbox Messages, I can't capture the .edb's and every Mailbox gives me the error message V-79-57344-33928 - Access is denied. My Backup Account is in the Administrators and Domain Administrators group, but still no joy.

Can anyone offer any advice.

Troubleshooting individual mailbox backups, especially with Exchange 5.5, can be an in depth process but I have listed a few technotes below that may help.

Exchange mailbox backup jobs fail with the error: "Unable to attach to \\Server\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes."


Your best option is to search the knowledge base for something like the following:
exchange and mailbox and "access denied"

If / when you do the search leave the version filter to all versions as some of the older technotes will likely be useful for Exchange 5.5 troubleshooting.
