3-Way Backup with 2*Windows Server 2012 R2 to LTO4Tape

Hi,

i need to backup two Windows Server 2012 r2 Machines, both Machines are connected by FC to a LTO4 Tape-Autoloader.

One Machine is my MediaServer the other one is just a Client.

When trying to Backup the "Client" Machine, the Backup runs VERY slow (~60MB/min). How do i have to Setup BE2015 to use my FC connection? Or do i have to use another sollution?

To use the FC connection from 2 servers, you need the ESO option and BE installed on both servers.  One would be your CAS server (the boss) and one would be your MMS (a Managed Media Server).

Without ESO which gives you both CASO and SSO, the back data will flow from the client over the LAN to the media server and then to the tape drive.

Do i have to reinstall the MMS as well or is it enough to update my CASO?

I assume that you just have a the Windows Remote Agent on your client machine now?

If so, you will install the full version of BE on it, instead of the Remote Agent.

In addition to ESO, you need to get a full BE licence for the MMS and you need to install BE on the remote server before converting it into a MMS.
