Access Denied 0xa0008488 fixed yet?

Is there a fix yet for the issue in 9.1 where the jobs report failed when they have an issue with emails that are being scanned by the virus software? The job gives the above error for specific messages in mailboxes.

From what i have gathered it is an issue with VSAPI and a fix is to disable this while the backup is running and then to re-enable it when it is done.

Is there some way just to have the job say successful instead of failed?
Or is there some other way to get around this?

Thanks
Darin

Hello,

- What exchange version are you using?

- If the issue is specific to some mailboxes, try excluding them for isolating the issue. Also, a reboot of the exchange server helps in such cases as it resets corrupt flag set on the suspected mailbox.

The error message "a0008488 hex," "access denied," or "access is denied" is returned when the logon account provided to attach to a resource does not have sufficient rights to back up the resource. Most access denied messages can be resolved by providing an alternate account with local administrative rights to the resource for Backup Exec to connect with.

SOLUTION :

To help you while creating logon account and giving him sufficient rights :

To resolve this issue please refer to following technotes :

2)"Access is denied", (a0008488 HEX) error occurs in a Backup Exec job.
