Access denied to database

I am receiving a message "Access denied to database" message for 3 of our Exchange databases. I am guessing that it has to do with permissions with the account we use with Backup Exec, but not sure what exactly to look for.

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

You need to verify the permissions of the Backup exec account :

1. It should possess domain admin rights.

2. Exchange full admin rights.

3. The user of the account should have an active mailbox in the exchange server.

4. The first five characters of this account have to be unique.

5. The user should be visible in the global address list.

Hope this helps. please revert with the results.

How do I determine if it has Exchange full admin rights? Also, how do I determine the account that Backup Exec is using? Is it Network -> Logon Accounts... -> the account that is set as Default?

Hello,

To determine that BE account has exchange full admin right please see through exchange system manager-exchange orginisation-delegate control-check the rights for the BE account.

Also please see the technote to do the steps mentioned in the earlier reply.
