Active Directory Service Error

Our clients backup fails to complete due to an Active Directory serive not responding error.

Here is the log exert


Media Name: "Media created 20/06/2005 22:00:03 "
Backup of "\\DELLSERVER\System?State "
Backup set #3 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "Backup 0016"
Backup Type: COPY - Back Up Files
Backup started on 21/06/2005 at 01:02:31 .
Active Directory Service is not responding. Backup set canceled

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
