Advanced Open File Option ... selecting itself!

We are using BEWS 11d to back up a remote server (windows 2003). This is just a flat file backup, no agents are used apart from the remote agent of course.

The backup run, but we are getting the follwing error on the backup:

V-79-57344-34110 - AOFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Micros...
VSS Snapshot error. Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) cannot communicate with the writers. ...

We don't have the AOFO installed, and it is not being selected in the job. However, when submitting the job, the backup job submission properties shows:

Advanced Open File

Use Advanced Open File Option: Yes

Open file configuration: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service

Snapshot provider: Automatic - Allow VSS to select the snapshot provider

Process logical volumes for backup one at a time: Yes

Has anyone else come across this, and if so, has anyone been able to rectify it?
