After upgrade to BackupExec 9.1 sp4a unix agents fail with 0xa000fe29

i have tried creating a new login account in BE, and then hitting the replace button on the existing account and telling it to use the newly created one. i have also tried restarting the agents on the unix machines. neither helps.

i see someone else reportnig this issue with win9x as well. and there is already a technote on netware. this seems like a systematic problem with sp4.

please advise asap.

neither of these help.

The system was working perfectly fine until i moved from sp2 to sp4a. Even in sp4a i can browse the remote agents in selection lists and see all their files. But backups fail with the error specified above.

How can i get my install back to sp2? If i uninstall BackupExec and reinstall it, will my list of jobs, inventories, etc be retained?

Hello Bruce,

to retain all your backup exec job configuration info with all the jobs etc. check this technote out:

Hope it helps.

Ashutosh
