Agent and Option Licensing

Have an existing server running Backup Exec 9.0 and need to add another remote server to the backup jobs. The new server is a MS SQL server, so I need to add that agent as well.
I was told that v9 licenses were no longer available, but a v10 agent license would work. The progam does not accept the v10 agent licese number.

Is there some method to obtain a "downgraded" license number? Do I need to upgrade everything just to add another server?

I've heard that if yoiu call phone support, they will generate a v9 serial for you in this situation, but I've never had to do it myself, so it's hearsay at best.

You may also be able to return the serial to the vendor, and get on on EBay or one of the other Auciton or Surplus sites.

(I recently got a v9.0 base serial for $90.00 on EBAY for our church)

For Backup Exec 9.x you will need only 9.x License keys.
10.0 Licenses will not work with Backup Exec 9.x
